Our Roadmap to Self-Driving Trucks

We are delivering engineering solutions that strive above all to improve road safety while helping our customers improve business efficiencies. This journey is a marathon, not a sprint. Development and deployment of automated trucks takes time, and safety is our top priority.

We strongly believe in collaboration and partnerships to develop, test, and commercialize SAE Level 4 automated technology. We are combining our rich heritage of truck development, manufacturing expertise and infrastructure network with the software expertise of our partners Torc Robotics since 2019 and Waymo since 2020.

Daimler Truck and Torc Robotics share the same goal to bring highly automated trucks to series production within the decade. Together we have achieved significant progress on our roadmap. The strategic partnership with Waymo complements our dual-strategy approach to work with strong partners to deliver highly automated L4 solutions, and to seamlessly integrate those solutions with our best-in-class trucks to our customers.
